Anna is the daughter of Polish speed skater Jana Korowicka.  Jana skated on the Polish team at the 1976 Winter Olympics and gave birth to Anna in 1977.


Friesinger has won three Olympic Gold Medals, her first at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics in 1500m, her second at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin in Team Pursuit and her latest at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver in Team Pursuit.

In Anna's career she has won sixteen World Championship events.  Anni has also been the European Allround Champion five times, and the World Allround Champion three times.


At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City Friesinger set the Olympic record in the 1500m.


Anni has also done some modeling work appearing in Maxim, the German magazine Stern and has appeared as a swimsuit model.  Anni has also been known as "Super Sexy Anni".
