Luciana Aymar Starts Monday as one of the Most Beautiful Women in Sports

Field hockey player Luciana Aymar starts of the week as one of the most beautiful women in sports.

Luciana started playing field hockey at seven years old with Club Atletico in Rosario.  In 1997 Aymar was part of the Argentina national team that won the Pan American Games Junior Championship.




In 1998 Aymar joined the Argentina senior national team at age 16 where they finished fourth at the World Cup.  Luciana was the youngest Argentinian to be accepted to the squad.




Aymar has won gold medals at the Pan American Games three times, 1999, 2003 and 2007, and the silver medal once in 2011.  At the World Cup Aymar won the gold medal in 2002 and 2010.  The 2010 World Cup gold medal came in her home town of Rosario.




Luciana has three Olympic medals in field hockey, a silver in 2000, and two bronze medals, one in 2004 and one in 2008.




Aymar has won the Champion's Trophy's Player of the Tournament six times with the most recent being in 2012.  Luciana was voted the International Field Hockey World's Best Player of the Year seven times, the latest in 2010.




Luciana was also voted the World Cup Player of the Tournament twice, once in 2002 and once in 2010.
