Professional Ironwoman, Surf lifesaver, Ocean Paddler

Hayley was the Australian Ironwoman Champion in 2001 and finished second in 2004, 2005 and 2008.



Bateup has won the Coolangatta Gold Championship three times, 2005, 2006 and 2008.  The Coolangatta Gold is one of the premier events in the sport of Ironman (Surf livesaving) and is organized by Surf Life Saving Australia.

Hayley is also a four time Australian Board Champion.  Bateup is one of the top ranked paddlers in the world and has won two world titles.  Hayley completed the 25 hour Board Paddle from Cuba to Florida in 2004.


In 2008 Hayley became a Gladiator nicknamed "Nitro" and appeared in 15 episodes of the Australian Gladiator series.


Bateup has been recovering from shoulder surgery and hopes to be back soon to compete.
