In 2007 Nevin won her first gold medal at the European U23 Championships in Debrecen, Hungary in the 100m hurdles.  Yanit also placed 2nd in the 100m hurdles at Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand.  At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, Japan Nevin placed 12th.


Nevin won two more gold medals in 2009, one at the Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Italy and one at the Universiade in Belgrade, Serbia.  Both gold medals came in the 100 meter hurdles.


Yanit won another gold medal at the 2010 European Championships in Berlin Germany with a time of 12.63 in the 100m hurdles while setting a national record.


At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China Nevin ran in the semi-finals in the 100m hurdles which is an achievement no other Turkish athletes had ever done in short-distance track event at the Olympics.
